“From the kitchen to the lens: my journey through flavours and photography.”
Hola. Hi there!
I’m Cata, a Chilean traveller with a foodie and an entrepreneurial soul. I’m a restless spirit , a lover of coffee and slow brunches, of long hugs, soulful singing, playing guitar, and living life through the eyes of a tourist, even in the most familiar places.
Professionally, I studied Public Relations and later specialised in digital marketing, social media and photography. But my real story? It began in the middle of a global pandemic, in a kitchen studio I built with my ever-supportive papá (dad in spanish). His constant support has been behind every dream turned into reality. I’m deeply grateful for the way he’s always believed in me, and I carry that love into everything I do.
During Covid, I launched my own breakfast, brunch, and delivery catering business in Chile, creating cozy, colourful dishes inspired by flavours from around the world. And once we were free from lockdowns, I expanded into catering for events and designing grazing tables filled with beauty, intention, and delicious detail. That’s when I truly fell in love with photography and just like that, everything started to fall into place.
After a few years, my desire to keep exploring the world and immersing myself in new cultures led me to begin a new chapter; one filled with travel, discovery, and the joy of tasting new flavours.

Today, I’m based in Australia, working as a freelance food and event photographer. I help cafés, restaurants, food entrepreneurs and small businesses bring their vision to life through delicious, story-driven photography that speaks to the senses.
Beyond the lens, I hold a deep passion for supporting women who are just starting out, whether they’re launching a food project or bringing a creative dream to life. I believe in celebrating courage, creativity, and the magic of starting from scratch.

This is where it all began
It all began in my kitchen studio in Chile, where I started designing breakfast menus and uncovering the art of food styling — learning to blend textures, colours, and composition to make each dish visually mouthwatering.

One of my deepest passions is discovering a culture through its flavours and street markets. From the empanadas of Chile to the tapas of Spain, handmade pasta in Italy, the vibrant chaos of Thai street food, the precision of Japanese cuisine, the boldness of South Korean dishes, and the café rituals of Australia — each bite tells a story, and each journey has shaped mine.

Food Photography
I moved to Melbourne during the summer months, and in the midst of its explosion of art, cafés, and restaurants, camera in hand, I began to dive into the world of food photography. It was this city — so far from Chile — that inspired me to start again, this time through the lens of food.

Life is a banquet
Catering is one of my greatest joys (alongside photography). I love designing abundant spreads that delight the senses, filled with vibrant colours, fresh floral arrangements and bold visual compositions. Creating beautiful, generous tables is my way of bringing people together over food - turning every event into a feast to remember.
